Professional Experience

I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Independent Prescriber currently working across standalone Urgent Care Centres and Primary Care settings. My role involves autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of adults and children presenting with acute undifferentiated conditions, minor injuries, same-day emergencies, chronic illnesses, and complex health needs. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1988 and initially specialised in inpatient HIV/AIDS care (1992–1998), where I held both clinical and leadership roles. In 2000, I transitioned to emergency care and qualified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in 2004. Since then, I have worked in both co-located and standalone urgent care environments, consistently applying advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
My scope of practice includes independent prescribing, advanced diagnostics, and management of a wide range of presentations in urgent and primary care. I also have extensive experience in remote and expedition healthcare abroad, and in homeless inclusion health in London, providing care to vulnerable populations in challenging environments.

Professional Development

I maintain clinical competence through continuous professional development, including self-directed learning, reflective practice, and participation in face-to-face and online training. I regularly attend conferences and webinars focused on urgent and primary care, advanced practice, and prescribing. In 2023, I was awarded the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Advanced Level Nursing Practice (ALNP) Credential, recognising my expertise and leadership in advanced clinical practice. This credential reflects my commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professional accountability.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
Between 2004 and 2007, while working as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, I was requested by police to provide witness statements for victims of alleged assault. These statements were used as factual evidence in court proceedings.
