Professional Experience
Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2005, I have worked primarily in neurological rehabilitation and physical disability. My initial experience working as an occupational therapist was in a private rehabilitation unit for adults with acquired brain injuries, where I developed skills in physical, cognitive and behavioural rehabilitation. I then held various occupational therapy roles within the NHS. My last NHS post was as a clinical adviser providing county wide support to case-holding clinicians in the management of complex cases.
I left the NHS in 2018, and continued to work in clinical practice. I worked as a private occupational therapist initially and also as a Case Manager for 6 years. In this role I assessed, set up, co-ordinated, and managed care packages and rehabilitation for clients with brain injuries who had complex needs including those who received 24-hour care (and double up 24-hour care).
I currently work as an occupational therapist for Hampshire County Council and have done since 2019.
My occupational therapy roles in the NHS and Local Authority and in private practice have allowed me to gain significant clinical experience working with people post surgery (elective and trauma orthopaedic, cardiac and amputations), people who have experienced life changing injuries (acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury) and those with long term conditions. I have also worked as a specialist neurological occupational therapist for a private neurological rehabilitation provider.

I have attended court on a number of occasions and have given oral evidence in court as an Expert Witness.
