Professional Experience
I qualified as an occupational therapist from Southampton University in 2003. I am an experienced occupational therapist in the area of neurology, specialising in acquired brain injury, stroke, and long term neurological conditions. My main area of expertise is in the assessment and treatment of clients with cognitive, physical and behavioural difficulties as a result of their injuries, and I have worked within the field of neurology since 2006. I have worked in the private sector alongside the NHS since 2009 and left the public sector to work independently in 2011.
I currently work as a consultant specialist neuro and paediatric occupational therapist for a number of rehabilitation companies, including my own practice. I provide assessment and treatment to adults and young people with neurological conditions and my skills include cognitive and behavioural management, physical rehabilitation, upper limb rehabilitation, seating and posture management, anxiety and anger management and vocational rehabilitation.
My work includes considering psychological and social factors to assess long term needs for the individuals and their families, and liaising with referrers and external services. As an occupational therapist I work alongside carers and other members of the MDT to provide training, support and advice for care teams, which includes recommending and facilitating care packages.
Professional Development
I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.
Medico Legal Experience
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
