Professional Experience

I am a highly passionate and clinically skilled Occupational Therapist and qualified in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Occupational Therapy from the University of Delhi. I began working in the UK as an occupational therapist in 2014 and in 2015 gained a Master's in Advanced Occupational Therapy from the University of Northampton. I have significant experience in health and social care including mainstream hospitals and community rehab settings. In my career I have worked closely with people who have undergone elective and orthopaedic surgery due to trauma, have sustained spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, and developed neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and motor neuron disease.

In my current social care role, I specialise in providing specific interventions and recommendations for Disability Facility Grant (DFG) adaptation and specialist equipment for young people and adults with highly complex lifelong conditions. These cases are complex and I assess a person’s physical and cognitive abilities to establish the most suitable adaptations to their home to meet their lifelong needs. Typically, these people have physical and cognitive impairments originating from acquired brain injuries, spinal or orthopaedic injuries.

I have developed my expertise assessing people with physical and neurological impairments. I have considerable experience in identifying how these conditions impact a person's life and daily activities in the short and long term. I have a special interest in how specialist equipment can improve function and the ability to regain independence. This equipment could include a modular shower chair, or wheelchair, to advanced bathing/toilet equipment and postural management systems. Most of the equipment is bespoke, which I design in close collaboration with manufacturers after completing specialist assessments.

I am a strong advocate for the patients and carers I work with and this is reflected in my clinical practice. I have clinical expertise for identifying the level of care a patient will need by analysing their stage of impairment, which allows me to recommend care packages that can meet their immediate and long term needs.

Along with excellent communication and writing skills in English, I am fluent in speaking languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Gujrati and many other Indian dialects.

Professional Development

I completed my master's degree in occupational therapy with a special interest in long term management of cerebral palsy and neurological conditions. I maintain my professional development and HCPC standards by attending relevant training.

Medico Legal Experience

I accept instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
