    Introduction

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand in 2000. Since then I have worked in health settings in New Zealand and across both health and social care in the UK. I have worked on medical, orthopaedic, rehabilitation, neurosurgery and neurology wards and in the community.

While working in social care in the community, I have gained excellent knowledge of adaptations,  equipment, including complex moving and handling equipment and specialist seating needs. I have worked with clients with many different conditions and this has given me exceptional experience to identify a person’s needs and make appropriate recommendations.  I also work with family and carers and identify their needs are to enable them to continue providing care.

I worked as a senior practitioner, supervising a team of qualified staff and assistants and developing their skills. I also worked on innovative programs to develop the service. In 2012 I set up my own independent occupational therapy practice. This involves work with social care, charities, housing associations, private clients and medico legal work. I have now completed numerous medico legal reports.

I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
