MSc Advanced Practice (Health and Social Care), Advanced Certificate in Continence Care, PG Dip Health
I qualified as an Enrolled Nurse (General) in 1983 and gained level 1 registration in 2000.
Initially working as a preoperative practitioner for 16 years, I gained an interest in urology and gynaecology surgery. Whist working in a day surgery setting I had the opportunity of undertaking colonoscopies and urodynamic testing for patients with complex bladder symptoms.
Over the past 15 years I have had the opportunity of working at a senior level, developing services in acute, community and commercial sectors for patients with both bladder and bowel symptoms. As a lead clinician I provide specialist advice and support focussing on the use of medical devices in relation to bladder, bowel and ostomy care.
I have been involved in the delivery of training and education for the past 10 years with Birmingham City University and have successfully implemented educational modules for staff working within the care home sector.
I am also a Trustee for the COB Foundation charity that provides support to individuals with Painful Bladder Syndrome and Overactive Bladder.
Key areas of interest:
Complex continence assessments and implementation of treatment programmes Female, male and suprapubic catheterisation
Neuropathic bladder management and Overactive Bladder
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
