    Introduction

I qualified in 1992 as a Physiotherapist from the Liverpool School of Physiotherapy, and I have specialised in the field of Paediatrics since 1994 working predominantly in the NHS. Since 2009 I have developed my Private Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice. Between 2010 and 2014 I was employed 2 days a week by Brainwave and as an Associate Lecturer at Edge Hill University from 2011.

Currently, I am providing in-depth assessments for children with complex physical disabilities with various core diagnoses and providing treatment, recommending equipment, training carers, and programme development for these children. I also undertake medico-legal assignments on cases involving children. I provide teaching on subjects as requested.

I have considerable experience treating children and young people with brain injuries such as Cerebral Palsy and acquired brain injuries (ABI), as well as other paediatric conditions such as Erb's Palsy, and developmental co-ordination difficulties. During my generalised training, I worked on the children’s ward at the Walton Centre for children with ABI, I have assessed and treated children age 0-25 with physical difficulties due to a neurological, musculoskeletal and/or genetic basis for over 25 years. I have always carried a mixed case load of children of different ages and with diverse types of difficulties. I have extensive experience of treating children with Cerebral Palsy, ABI, developmental coordination difficulties, Erb’s Palsy and orthopaedic difficulties especially in the under 12’s. I have worked in special schools for children with physical and learning disabilities throughout the northwest of England; and carried a mainstream caseload. I have worked closely with social care and education.

In addition, I also write medico legal reports for Somek and Associates. I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
