During this I time I also led the Rapid response therapy service for people with Motor Neurone Disease.
I have gained experience in working with adults and children facing long term disability, coping with the impact that neurological conditions have on their functional ability, lifestyle and psycho social functioning. I am experienced in exploring solutions to meet individual needs. eg specialist equipment for postural support, Bathing, showering and all aspects of personal care. I am also experienced in assessing and resolving complex Moving and handling situations to enable safe care to take place whilst still enabling the individual to maintain autonomy and independence.

My experience of working with Spinal injuries has included facilitating hospital discharge, provision of specialist equipment to meet immediate needs and assessing longer term housing needs. I have also developed an awareness of the challenges facing individuals with spinal injuries in maintaining their physical health and psychological wellbeing.
