BSc Occupational Therapy
I have been working a an Occupational Therapist in the UK since 2005 in a variety of settings, primarily in physical disability.
I have developed great passion for my role as an occupational therapist, particularly within rehabilitation services along with wheelchairs, static seating and postural management.
During my career I have also gained experience in palliative care, renal failure and transplant, elderly care, rapid response, hand therapy, acute psychiatry, general medicine, orthopaedics and amputees. Many of my previous roles have been within acute inpatient settings, requiring expertise in time management and working efficiently under pressure.
I am currently working in a community rehabilitation team with clients who have a variety of conditions including but not limited to; fractures and orthopaedics, amputations, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, falls, Arthritis and Dementia. I am involved in rehabilitation programmes, moving and handling, seating and postural management assessments, identifying long term equipment and considering environmental needs.
Throughout my clinical work, I liaise with formal and informal carers, home care agencies and social workers - informing on my assessment findings in order to assist with determining the level of care and assistance required and how this can be provided safely and efficiently.
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant solicitors and insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to expert witnesses.
