I qualified as a Registered Nurse, Mental Health in 1982 and General Nursing in 1985. I have an experienced clinical and operational background with the ability to consider and manage conflicting priorities to achieve positive outcomes for patients in a range of care settings within the NHS and in the community.
I am currently working as a Continuing Healthcare Review Nurse Manager with Barnet CCG. Within this role I am required to use my clinical skills, knowledge and judgement to apply continuing healthcare criteria to individuals who have applied for consideration of current Continuing Healthcare eligibility and for previously un-assessed episodes of care.
The role requires me to co-ordinate and lead relevant multidisciplinary assessments, complete detailed health needs assessments and needs portrayals and facilitate decision support tools in line with the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare.
I have the skills to identify and collate relevant information from several sources to achieve robust assessment of need including liaising and involving clients; families, carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team who have been involved in care provision.
Clinically my main areas of specialism are Intermediate Care, Falls / Rehabilitation and Adult Mental Health including Dementia care.
I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. Because of my wide ranging operational experience I also have the skills and knowledge to consider aspects of employee related case work. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
