Carol Mumford

Introduction
I qualified in 1985 as a Registered General Nurse. From 1997 worked as Haemodialysis Manager (H Grade) at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage, where I was responsible for the overall management of the Lister Haemodialysis unit and Satellite Facilities. I provided clinical advice and support to the Dialysis and Nephrology Management Groups and worked in partnership with the Nephrology team to manage a designated workforce, dialysis capacity and strategic planning for the expansion of the haemodialysis population.

In April 2008 I was promoted to Practice Standards Matron (Band 8a), where I now manage the growing needs and demands of an expanding renal service, ensuring that the department delivers a cost effective service which delivers high levels of clinical standards and expertise. This role includes managing complex cases of renal patients through various renal care pathways as well as all the challenges and problems associated with long term conditions

In addition, I undertake medico legal work for Somek and Associates. I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers. I have undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
