Introduction
I am a Registered Nurse who has specialised in the field of urogynaecology / continence since 1990, working in a variety of nursing positions, and obtaining my MSc in 2004. For 14 years until 2010, I was employed by South West Oxfordshire as Continence Services Manager, where I had responsibility for developing and managing both adult and paediatric services, including the management and development of the Nursing Continence Advisors within the service.
I am currently Senior Lecturer at Coventry University where I have specific responsibility for the nursing education programme regarding Continence and Nurse Prescribing.
I also undertake medico legal work for Somek and Associates. I accept instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors and Insurers and have dealt with matters involving assessment of Continence service provision as well as analysis of care needs in relation to continence issues. I have undergone training in the medico-legal process and am fully aware of my responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses.
